EXPERIENCE THE GREAT OUTDOORS, CUVÉE-STYLE
DOG SLEDDING ADVENTURE
Dog sledding is quite possibly one of the most thrilling adventures that you can experience on your Colorado trip. A Cuvée guest favorite, this enthralling experience entails a pack of huskies pulling you and a companion through the snow covered woods. Your Cuvée Curator will arrange for a stop midway through the tour to warm up and enjoy a mug of hot cocoa in a rustic warming hut before beginning the ride back to your mountain chalet.
Cuvée works with the finest guides in the Vail Valley, to ensure that your experience is as personalized as possible. Enjoy endless miles of groomed trails and spectacular views cruising around Camp Hale aboard a snowmobile. Reach altitudes up to 12,500 feet and encounter 360° views of breathtaking, snow-covered valleys below. Snowmobiling adventures are the perfect opportunity to experience the backcountry in a fun and thrilling way.
BACKCOUNTRY SKIING EXPERIENCE
Backcountry skiing in Vail Valley is the ultimate experience for any adventure-seeker. Our expert guides will transport your group by snowcat to the finest, freshest powder available. Enjoy exclusive access to more than 2,600 skiable acres of backcountry in the San Isabel and White River National Forests, featuring amazing powder bowls and breathtaking jumps and runs. Your Experience Curator and ski expert will take care of all the little details, from arranging transportation to and from the snowcat, preparing an incredible lunch spread featuring local restaurateurs, and supplying avalanche gear and training (just in case)!
SHOPPING IN THE VAIL VALLEY
The area between Lionshead and Vail Village offers hundreds of fashion options for any discerning shopper, and Beaver Creek Village is full of amazing boutique shops and inspiring art galleries. Let our Cuvée Curators arrange a private shopping excursion at a range of boutiques and galleries of your choosing, complete with champagne. Visit stores featuring a wide variety of local artisan goods, including cowboy apparel and boots, designer jewelry, ski wear, art, antiques and collectibles.
UPSCALE CLOTHING & JEWELRY
Gorsuch is a spectacular three-story department store filled to the brim with the most stylish mens and ladies fashions and décor, from fur coats and housewares to antler-trimmed accessories and designer jewelry. Skipper & Scout is our favorite upscale children’s boutique featuring fashions for all ages, as well as fun in-store activities such as hot chocolate happy hours and candy necklace making classes.
AUTHENTIC SKI WEAR & ACCESSORIES
For the best style on the slopes, head to Tommy Bowers Ski, owned by U.S. ski team member, Tom Bowers. The store features fantastic items imported from all over the world, and highlights luxe European brands such as Frauenschuh and Authier. Beaver Creek Sports is conveniently located at The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch, and features snow sport fashion fit for any activity. Let our Experience Curators arrange an in-residence ski fitting with BCS experts in the comfort of your private residence.
ONE-OF-A-KIND ART & COLLECTIBLES
Karin’s, located in Park Plaza in Beaver Creek Village, offers a fantastic range of one-of-a-kind antiques and collectibles from around the world, with a strong focus on local and Colorado-based items. Pick out a new piece for your home collection at Richter Fine Art, featuring fantastic nature photography. Allow our Experience Curators to handle the transportation of any of your shopping items back to your home residence, so all you have to worry about is selecting the perfect items.
TOP DINING PICKS
If you appreciate an age-old way of cooking, then you’ll love the menu at the rustic and relaxed tavern, Mountain Standard, located in the heart of Vail. Our Curators recommend the Wood Roasted Bone Marrow with toasted sunflowers and rosemary lemon olive oil to start, followed by the Beef Short Rib with wood roasted vegetables and sunchoke purée.
Matsuhisa Vail is the child of one of our favorite, world-renowned head chefs, Chef Nobu. Known for his innovative fusion cuisine blending traditional Japanese dishes with Peruvian and Argentinian ingredients, a reservation at Matsuhisa is sure to be one of the highlights of your vacation. Enjoy high-end Japanese fusion fare and Cuvée’s favorite sushi dishes. We recommend the Broiled Black Cod with Miso sauce or King Crab Tempura.
As the name Cuvée was derived from a French term meaning blend of wines, we very much appreciate a restaurant with an outstanding sommelier. Sweet Basil is truly a destination for wine connoisseurs, with the list highlighting over 500 carefully chosen bottles from around the world. A Vail Valley gourmet staple since 1977, this creative, modern American restaurant located in the heart of the Vail Village has been voted Colorado’s Most Popular Restaurant by Zagat. The menu features imaginative cuisine with an innovative array of diverse influences.
Whoever says breakfast is the most important meal of the day obviously doesn’t understand brunch. To indulge in the greatest mid-day cuisine in Vail Valley, allow our Curators to reserve a table at Vintage ̶ a French brasserie-style restaurant serving champagne brunch daily until 1:30 pm. Cuvée guests rave about their Huckleberry Bacon French Toast and Eggs Benedictine.
Getting Here: The Vail Valley is serviced by both Eagle Airport and Denver International Airport (DIA). Eagle Airport offers non-stop service to major cities and is just a 20 minute drive from Vail or 30 minute drive from Beaver Creek. DIA is 100 miles east (approximately 2 hour drive) of Vail Valley.
International Travel: Visitors traveling from outside of the United States are required to posses passports valid for six months beyond the period of their intended stay. Airline reservation name must match your passport exactly!
Transportation: Whether you need transportation to and from the airport, or would prefer pre-arranged transportation for your entire stay, let our Cuvée Curators and winter driving experts assist with any questions or reservations you might require.
Weather: January and February offer the best chances for fresh powder, but temperatures can be very chilly. In February, the average high temperature is 33° and the average low is 8°. Although it will be cold, the high elevation and close proximity to the sun can easily lead to sunburn, so don’t forget your sunscreen!
Altitude: The altitude at the base of Vail Mountain is 8,100 feet, which can be quite an adjustment for those accustomed to living at sea level. Most visitors acclimate to the thin air within the first few days, but be sure to drink extra water and consume moderate amounts of alcohol your first evening.
