About the Vail Valley
Perched six floors above Vail Square and claiming an entire wing of the exclusive Arrabelle Resort, this 4,000 square foot, five-bedroom chalet is a vision of alpine design with our signature Cuvée flourish. In the great room’s distinctive octagon sitting area, a moss stone fireplace, rich hardwood accents, original art, marble coffee table, and slate-blue mohair upholstery are illuminated by walls of windows that provide a king’s view of the mountain and the European-inspired square below. The Arrabelle Chalet is one of the finest penthouses in Cuvée’s entire portfolio of luxury Vail rentals.
Step onto the 280 degree balcony that hugs the great room and survey skiers swooshing down the ski runs, ice skaters circling the rink, and the Arrabelle’s Glockenspiel clock marking the slow and pleasant passage of time—all while tucked cozily in a blanket with a steaming latte warming your hands. Imagine this scene at Christmas, when the square sparkles with lights like a star-filled sky, or in summertime, when thousands of flowers burst into bloom and Austrian music floats up to the balcony.
If you’d rather participate in the alpine painting laid out before you, the Arrabelle Chalet situates you perfectly to do just that: we are located at an ideal ski-in, ski-out location at the base of the gondola, and just a ten-minute walk from Vail Village’s five-star restaurants and elite shopping. Not to mention your access to Arrabelle’s lavish amenities like a rooftop hot tub, lap pool and spa services—amenities that are yours in addition to the solitude and quiet provided by a private residence.
Styled by Cuvée
We knew the Arrabelle Resort—with its European polish and ideal location at the base of the ski gondola in Vail—was the perfect place for the newest addition to the Cuvée portfolio. And so, during the resort’s pre-planning stage, we began our search for its top-notch residence, seeking a penthouse perch with views of the ski mountain and square. In other words, we were looking for the crown jewel of the Arrabelle. We found it. Cuvée purchased our chalet from the former CEO of Vail Resorts, whose eye is just as discerning as ours, and who had his pick of residences at the Arrabelle. During the construction process, he was able to make direct floor plan modifications, and his savvy choices brought this chalet from excellent to extraordinary.
Then, it was time for the Cuvée Construction and Interior Design team to work their transformative magic. Our interior designers chose a French Alps-inspired color palate of greys, blues and golds, and master craftsman fashioned custom wood and stone accents, like a moss rock fireplace, and wood ceiling accents to highlight the chalet’s one-of-a-kind architecture. The great room’s lux seating area stands out, with its mohair sofa and a true work of art for a coffee table: a hand-picked slab of granite supported by an antique iron gate imported from France.
Bronze Master Suite: One of two master suites, the Bronze Master presents a warm glow with its corner fireplace, walls coated in a Venetian bronze plaster finish, and custom bedding and upholstery in shimmering hues of gold and alabaster. From the Bronze Master, watch skiers on the slopes or access the wrap-around balcony right from your room.
As is the case at all of our signature properties, the beds at the Arrabelle Chalet are like nothing you’ve ever slept in before (our guests insist on this!). In the Bronze Master, a four-poster bed is given the Cuvée treatment, with a double-pillow top mattress, down/feather pillows and duvet, and Egyptian cotton sheets.
Mornings in this suite are indulgent, thanks to the attached marble bath with Jacuzzi soaking tub, steam shower, and TV for watching the day’s ski report while you get ready.
Two Queens Suite: Two queens, one castle. Enjoy this double-occupancy suite with Vail Square views, attached bath, antique trunk-style dresser, and two queen-sized beds that include all the trimmings of our signature Cuvée beds (pillow-top mattress, down-feather bedding, and Egyptian cotton sheets), plus leather headboards to lean against when you settle in with a book. But be warned: our beds are so unbelievably comfortable you might struggle to make it past page one.
Vail Square King Suite: The Vail Square King Suite offers an en suite bathroom, signature Cuvée king-sized bed with a custom leather headboard, classic and beautiful lighting fixtures, and a plush sitting area. Open the curtains, settle into the roomy chair, stretch your feet onto the leather ottoman, and take in the royal views of Vail Square’s European architecture and the Glockenspiel.
Turret Master Suite: The Turret Master Suite is the ultimate indulgence. It entices with its craftsman stone fireplace, king-sized Cuvée bed with cream leather headboard, and grand windows that ensure the Vail Square and ski mountain will be the first sights to greet you in the morning.
A turret sitting area surrounds you in even more glass for taking in Vail’s beauty. But the view doesn’t stop there: a five-piece marble bathroom offers another vantage point, plus spa-like comforts like a Jacuzzi soaking tub and a marble vanity.
Denim and Wool Bunkroom: The bunkroom is a kid favorite—the perfect place to hide away and slip into dreams of one day winning Olympic gold on the slopes. The bunkroom is conveniently adjacent to the laidback, Secondary Family Room, with its kitchenette, large flat screen, plush sectional and fun games—like a Nintendo Wii—for the whole family.
Fully Equipped Chef-Style Kitchen: If you have a culinary need or want, we likely have the tools to create it. Equipped for the master chef, our kitchen shines with Viking stainless steal appliances and a plethora of small appliances, including a Nespresso machine. The cabinets were custom-painted in light gray tones and accented with moss rock by the Cuvée design team—the perfect complement to the white marble counters. Custom, hand-crafted glass pennants are suspended over four barstools—a place to gather for casual breakfast or a glass of wine while the chef works their magic.
Great Room: Our fully stocked liquor cabinet and wine rack provide all the ingredients for a relaxing conversation in the great room’s stunning octagon sitting area, which is lavishly furnished with two mohair sofas draped in velvety faux fur blankets. The centerpiece, though, is a coffee table crafted from a slab of granite that was hand-selected by Cuvée’s managing partner and founder after a days-long search. A perfect piece of marble needs a perfect base, of course, so Cuvée chose an antique iron gate imported from France to support this one-of-a-kind table. Crowning the handcrafted octagonal ceiling inset, a dramatic filigreed chandelier warms the room, as does the custom stone fireplace accented by a striking piece of art camouflaging the flat panel HDTV. A state-of-the-art Savant entertainment system provides Netflix, Hulu and Pandora as a backdrop while you entertain.
The formal dining area seats eight and overlooks the ski mountain. Adorned with original art and antiques, including a French Regency buffet with vintage stone top and authentic Trumeau plaster mirror with original artwork, the dining area is a fitting backdrop for a memorable meal.
French doors open to the wrap-around terrace with bistro table—a perfect perch for an espresso while people-watching—and an outdoor cooking area with gas grill.
